After conducting thorough research, Moving Feedback gave Mayzlin Relocation a call. We asked plenty of questions to see if their moving services were worth considering for your next move.
After exploring various reviews and customer experiences, we found Mayzlin Relocation to be a solid choice, offering direct moving services and a broad menu of options for your needs. We were happy to learn that they field their own in-house teams of movers, including a fleet of over 30 trucks.
BEST FOR LONG DISTANCE
Since they started almost a decade ago, Mayzlin has been moving local and long distance with highly trained in-house moving teams. This approach means they’ll be your carriers for every step of the process, including for jobs that need a bit more of a specialist’s touch.
From residential relocations to corporate and military moves, Mayzlin offers a wide variety of helpful services. They’re all about making sure your relocation is handled with care, whether you’re traveling down the block or across the country.

Moving APT and Mayzlin Relocation both have an awesome spread of services, but Mayzlin slightly edges out the competition. They have some helpful options for military customers, and they can also help you out with smaller moves.
If you don’t want to gamble on price, we recommend Mayzlin. While moving APT does have a lower minimum price, they also have a higher maximum price. Mayzlin has a smaller pricing window. Also, if you’re currently serving in the armed forces or just need help moving one room or a handful of items, Mayzlin is probably more your speed.
Allied Van Lines exclusively uses in-house movers, and so does Mayzlin. While it’s nice to know exactly who’ll be handling your move, Allied is one of the priciest moving companies we’ve reviewed. With Mayzlin, you’re getting a carrier for the fraction of the price.
It’s worth noting that Allied gave us a quote for a ~22,000 lb move, and our Mayzlin quotes were for 5600 lb moves. However, our priciest Mayzlin move was for a distance of 2673 miles, and the Allied quote was for only about 1500 miles.
When we asked Mayzlin for some quotes, we received prices that ranged from $5400 and $6800. Like most long-distance movers, Mayzlin charges based on pounds carried and distance traveled.
Our first quote came out to $5600. This was for a 1275-mile move from Florida to New Jersey, at a total weight of 5600 pounds.
Next, we were quoted $6800 for a 5600-pound, 2673-mile move from Maryland to California.
Finally, we asked about a 5600-pound, 1751-mile move from New York to Texas. This would cost us $6200.
We called Mayzlin Relocation to get some quotes, and overall the experience went really well. Their customer rep was helpful and offered plenty of info, and we even got a hefty discount to sweeten the deal.
Ordinarily, we have to wait a few minutes to get in touch with an actual human when we do these phone calls. Fortunately, we were only on the line for a few seconds before we got a live representative. As an added bonus, there was no phone menu that we had to navigate either!
We spoke with Andrew, who was really pleasant and professional through the whole call. He didn’t try any pushy sales tactics, and he clearly communicated what we could expect from our move. He also asked plenty of questions so he could provide us with an accurate quote.
When you call in about a moving quote, it’s pretty reassuring when your moving rep asks you for more information. It’s a good sign that they’re committed to giving you an accurate quote, and it lowers the chances of any unpleasant surprises later on down the line.
All movers are federally required to provide a minimum level of moving insurance. Unfortunately, this federal minimum only provides $0.60 per pound of items lost, damaged, or destroyed. As a welcome break, Mayzlin ups that $0.60 minimum to $1.20 per pound. They also offer full-value protection if you need it.
While Mayzlin Relocation’s full value protection does add to your overall price tag, it does mean you’ll be reimbursed for the actual value of your items. It’s a lot better than the federal minimum, and it’s extra peace of mind for your long distance move.
Mayzlin provided us with a delivery window of 7 to 14 days for our moves. Keep in mind, smaller moves may actually take longer to ship since it’s common for movers to combine several moves in the same truck for efficiency’s sake.
Mayzlin does offer discounts from time to time. If you’re flexible enough with your moving dates, you can save quite a bit – especially if that flexibility means you aren’t moving during peak moving season (June, July, and August).
If you’re planning a move with Mayzlin Relocation, make sure you ask them about any additional discounts or promotions you can take advantage of. It never hurts to check-in.
Booking a move with Mayzlin is pretty straightforward. It only takes a few steps to schedule your relocation.
Step 1:
Like most other moving companies, Mayzlin has a helpful online utility you can use to get a rough idea of your move’s final price. However, you’ll still need to provide more details with a moving rep.
Step 2:
Once you get in touch with Mayzlin, you’ll be able to walk them through the rest of your move. You’ll have to tell them more about the specifics of the job – in our case, we had to come up with an inventory list of all our stuff.
Step 3:
After you’ve chatted with a moving rep, Mayzlin will give you a quote. After that, it’s your turn to look it over and confirm that you’re ready to get started with your relocation.
Don’t take our word for it. Here’s what Mayzlin Relocation’s customers had to say about their own experiences:
“Mayzlin Relocation did a great job through the whole process. Adams arrived with his crew on the move; everyone introduced themselves with a handshake and a genuine smile. Goods were packed well and padded with excellent packing paper, tape, and wrap.“
Sonny W. Via My Moving Reviews
“The team was excellent. I would highly recommend them. They were knowledge, professional and easy to work with. The lead mover, also had an eye for design and help position the furniture. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with them.”
Diego M. Via Home Advisor
Mayzlin Relocation is a carrier. They have their own in-house team of movers, and a fleet of over 30 trucks. This means when you book with them, you know who you’ll be dealing with through every step of the operation – and you’ll know that your moving team is a team you can trust.
According to their website, Mayzlin offers two different types of insurance: Limited liability, and full value replacement. Depending on your needs, you may be able to skate by with their basic, limited liability coverage. However, if you really want to keep your stuff safe, their full value coverage can really help.
In the moving industry, a binding estimate means you’re paying what you’ve been quoted – nothing more, and nothing less. Unlike a nonbinding estimate, a binding estimate is set in stone and can’t be adjusted before, during, or after moving day. Don’t try to pull a fast one and add extra stuff after you get your quote, though: This may mean you’ll have to get a new contract.
If you have a long driveway, or your apartment building has several flights of stairs or an elevator, your movers will have to plan out their approach and deal with these obstacles for every trip to the truck. They’ll also charge you access fees for the extra hassle.
A full-service move means a completely hands-off experience on your end. Your movers will pack, load, and haul all your stuff for you. While it may cost more than a complete (or partial) DIY job, the savings on stress and time are priceless.
Mayzlin Relocation provides trustworthy in-house moving services with a comprehensive menu of services, making it easy to book completely custom moves that are handled by their own crew. Mayzlin’s versatile options, potential discounts, and friendly service all really stand out, which makes them really easy for us to recommend.
If you’re interested in getting started with your move, connect with Mayzlin for a smooth and supportive moving experience.
