Moving APT is one of the highest-rated movers we’ve reviewed. They’ve been around longer than Allegiance, and they’ve had more time to build a reputation. However, Allegiance Moving and Storage edges them out in terms of services offered. While the price from Allegiance was steep, our discounts transformed the price into something much more competitive.
It’s worth noting that some of our discounts came from having a flexible schedule. If you’re not trying to move on an exact date, you’ll really benefit from Allegiance Moving and Storage. They’re also a strong choice for interstate relocations.
Mayzlin Relocation is another one of our top contenders. They have a slight edge in terms of price, and they can also handle smaller moves. On the other hand, Allegiance can match their services and their price if you book your move at the right time.
Choosing between Mayzlin and Allegiance really comes down to what time you’re moving, and whether you want the added peace of mind of Allegiance’s trusted network of movers. If you move with Mayzlin, it’s a coin toss between whether you get a subcontractor or an in-house team. With Allegiance, you know you’re getting a vetted carrier.
Our total price with Allegiance started off as $12,982, but we got a handful of awesome discounts that cut our price down pretty drastically. All told, we would pay $5801.10 if we wanted to pack for ourselves, and $6,675 if we wanted their white glove packing service.
Allegiance Moving and Storage offers plenty of different services, but the big one is their white glove package. This means you don’t have to do any of the packing yourself. (Eagle-eyed readers may notice that our price with the white glove packing would actually be $6834.60, but our rep told us they’d waive the $159 for packing materials!)
Like many other movers, Allegiance offers some pretty awesome discounts if you’re flexible on your moving date. We scored a 70% discount because our route happened to be on one of Allegiance’s regular circuits, and an additional $700 off because we were reserving over 21 days in advance.
Our quote from Allegiance Moving and Storage. Note that both packing materials and the white glove service are included. If we went for the white glove service, they’d waive the packing materials fee ($159). If we decided against the white glove service, they’d remove the $1,192.50 extra, but we’d have to do our own packing.
Allegiance Moving and Storage offered us some hefty discounts. Here’s what was saving us the most money:
Type of Discount | Potential Savings |
---|---|
Tariff Discount | 70.61% |
Early Reservation | $700 |
Military and Senior discount | Varies by move |
To get a better idea of what it’s like to book a move with Allegiance, we gave them a call to see how they operate. The booking process is simple and streamlined, and we had an awesome representative walking us through the whole thing.
We called in to Allegiance Moving and Storage, and we were lucky enough to actually deal directly with their logistics manager, John. He was really helpful throughout the whole process, and he even shed some light on some common moving industry practices.
A lot of movers require in-home estimates or inventory lists. Allegiance actually gives you several choices: You can do a phone interview, have a rep visit your house, hop on a video call, or just email them an inventory list of all your stuff. We sent in our list, and we got our quote before our call even ended.
Next, we looked over our quote to make sure everything was accurate. We were pretty impressed by the discounts, and when we ran the numbers, the white glove moving service wasn’t that much pricier. All we’d have to do is confirm the move, and they’d take care of the rest.
“Allegiance made our move very easy and stress free. Their team updated on regular intervals while moving. They took care of our belongings as they were their own. I am feeling very glad to work with them. Thank you for your wonderful work. I highly recommend them.“
Lisa
“The worst ever movers, never use them. They give you a low price quote first and then 2 days before the move they increase is by 50% and they tell you either pay or lose your deposit and no refund. Never ever talk to them”

Allegiance Moving and Storage has some rough reviews, but most of these can be pinned on the carriers who actually show up for the job on moving day. As a limited broker, Allegiance has a trusted network of moving teams (and they’re all union certified), but it can still be a gamble.
If you want to move on a budget – and you also want a broad menu of services – Allegiance Moving and Storage is a solid choice. Their customer service reps are helpful and informative, and their discounts are pretty remarkable. Just make sure you plan your move far enough in advance.
Unfortunately, like many other brokers, Allegiance Moving and Storage seems to have some rough reviews. It’s important to keep in mind that these reviews may be directed more at the actual carrier than the team at Allegiance themselves.
If you’re okay with the fact that your actual carriers will be from Allegiance’s network of verified movers, they’re a solid choice. We were especially impressed with how helpful our rep was: John really knocked it out of the park, and we hope their carriers can match his helpful service.
Allegiance is a limited broker. This is different than regular brokers, who may just auction off your move to the highest bidder. Allegiance has their own network of moving specialists across the US, but keep in mind you’ll have to read up on those individual carriers to get a better idea of what you can expect on moving day.
Allegiance offers full value protection, but it does come at an extra cost. We were offered several tiers of coverage, the costs of which would then be added to the overall price of our quote. It may be an extra expense, but it’s worth the peace of mind.
When we spoke to John, he told us that our move would take between 12 and 14 days. He also explained to us that per DOT regulations, their drivers can’t clock more than 400 highway miles per day. To make sure we knew what we were getting into, John informed us that some moves can take up to 21 days, depending on road conditions and other moves along the route.
If you have a long driveway (over 75 feet), multiple flights of stairs, or your building has an elevator, your movers will have to navigate that obstacle course for every single box they carry in and out. This doesn’t come for free. Access fees will be tacked on to your quote if there are any major hurdles between your front door and the truck.
Fortunately, Allegiance also offers vehicle transport. They’ll have one of their vetted and verified specialists load your car or truck onto a trailer, and it’ll get sent to your destination. You can only drive one car at a time, so unless you feel like bouncing back and forth to move your collection, professional car haulers are your best bet.
