It’s important to find the right packers and movers for the job. When you’re looking for that perfect long-distance moving company keep a few things in mind to make sure they’re up to the task:

Certification: A legit moving company will have proper licensing and certification. If you have a mover in mind, make sure you check for their USDOT number and their Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) number.
Insurance: Under federal law, movers have to provide a bare minimum of insurance coverage for all your stuff. This minimum is $0.60 per pound of belongings lost, damaged, or destroyed. See if the moving company offers any additional coverage, too.
