It’s important to find the right mover for the job. When you’re looking for that perfect cross country moving company, keep a few things in mind to make sure they’re up to the task:
We did the research for you. Here’s Moving Feedback’s top 7 best cross country moving companies. Take a look at what each mover offers, and see which one is the right choice for you.
MOST RECOMMENDED
It’s not just the customer service. It’s not just the in-house pros. It’s not just the custom moves. It’s all of the above, as well as their storage option.
Paramount Van Lines gets a well-deserved first place on our list, and if you need storage, they’re far and away your best option. Having your stuff delivered from a storage unit is just too convenient to pass up.
We’re placing Paramount Van Lines ahead of all the rest. They provide the attention to customer service you can only get with a family business, except they’ve got a nationwide reach. Paramount has one of the most detailed storage packages we’ve ever seen. How many other movers can wrap, pack, and deliver your items… but from your storage unit?
BEST CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Adams Van Lines scores our second spot thanks to their impressive collection of customer reviews and awards. We love when movers showcase their reviews and feedback, especially since 5-star reviews are so rare in the moving industry. Adams displays these with pride, which makes it super easy for us (and potential customers) to learn what to expect on the big day.
There are a lot of sketchy moving companies out there, but Adams Van Lines is one of the good guys. They’re more customer-centric than a lot of other movers, meaning they’ll care more about your experience and your feedback than sticking to some quota. They’ve been at it for years, and if they keep it up, they’ll be in the industry for many more years to come.
BEST PREMIUM SERVICES
With a ton of premium moving services, it was easy to choose Native Van Lines as our number 3 recommendation. Their range of options and add-ons for moving and hauling all those expensive, fragile, or bulky items is seriously impressive, and if you need to move a piano, pool table, or anything else that requires extra TLC, Native Van Lines has your back.
Most people assume “premium moving” means “premium prices”, but right from the start, Native Van Lines set out to shatter that expectation. Since they were established a few years back, they’ve been delivering premium moves at affordable prices – and their specialization in fragile and high-value hauling means their moving teams are some of the steadiest in the business.
BEST FOR CUSTOMIZING
Every move is different, and nobody knows it better than Moving APT. We love it when movers give their customers plenty of choice, instead of forcing them into some one-size-fits-all moving plan. When you book with Moving APT, you’re getting a huge menu of add-ons and extras so you get exactly what you’re looking for on the big day. Pick and choose your moving options, and they’ll deliver a custom move.
As experienced hands in the moving industry, Moving APT knew they needed something to set themselves apart from the other guys. That “something else” turned out to be a huge menu of options and add-ons, that you’d usually only get if you were working with two or three different movers at once. They made it more convenient to get the exact services their customers needed, and that’s why they’re still around to this day.
MOST EXPERIENCED MOVER
BLVD Moving boasts some of the best customer reviews of the long-distance movers we checked out. We appreciated their commitment to a smooth moving process from start to finish, regardless of the distance.
BLVD Moving is fully permitted and licensed to handle any type of move, and they offer packing and storage services, too.
BLVD Moving has been meeting the needs of customers for over a decade, and their reviews show it. BLVD Moving is committed to providing excellent moving experiences, and their dedication to their customers is the proof. Their prices aren’t bad, either.
MOST AFFORDABLE
If you’re moving on a budget, Pricing Van Lines gives you big-name service without the big-name price tag. Moving can be expensive, and every cent matters.
Fortunately, we’ve found that Pricing Van Lines’ customer service, moving teams, and extra services make them a standout in the field of low-cost movers. Read our full review for more info.
Pricing Van Lines has been in business for over 20 years, and during that time they’ve established themselves as the “best bang for your buck” movers.

At Moving Feedback, we analyze cross-country moving companies based on what real customers are saying. If you’re searching for the best in the business, every review counts – and so do these other key metrics:
Hiring a cross-country moving company can cost anywhere from $1800 to $13400 – and beyond. This is a huge window, but it all depends on the amount of stuff you’re hauling and the distance you travel.
A cross-country move can take anywhere from 14 to 21 days, but the exact amount of time can depend on factors like the distance of the move, the amount of belongings being transported, the availability of movers, and the chosen route.
While many people assume moving less stuff means waiting less time, movers don’t like to send half-empty trucks around. Instead, they’ll bundle moves together and take care of several in one trip, which means additional delays for pickups and dropoffs.
The sooner the better. We like to recommend hiring movers at least 2 months before the big day. Keep in mind, if you’re thinking of moving during peak moving season (pretty much the entire summer), it might be hard to find movers at the last minute.
If you’re flexible on your moving dates, it gives you a little bit of wiggle room when you’re trying to book a mover. As a nice bonus, some movers even offer discounts for flexible pickup and dropoff dates.
Sorry, Mr. Pink. In the moving industry, tips are both accepted, and expected. Unless a mover explicitly declines tips or gratuities, you should budget out 10% to 20% of the final cost of the move as a tip for your movers – to be divided between the entire moving team, of course. Don’t forget the driver.
Unless something’s really gone bad, it’s common practice to tip your movers. Feel free to be generous and tip towards the high end of that 10% – 20% window if your moving team has done a stellar job.
