It’s important to find the right mover for the job. When you’re looking for that perfect national moving company, keep a few things in mind to make sure they’re up to the task:
We did the research for you. Here’s Moving Feedback’s top 7 best national moving companies. Take a look at what each mover offers, and see which one is the right choice for you.
MOST RECOMMENDED
We’re big fans of Brightside Moving Group. While tons of movers offer various services, Brightside offers various services for their packing alone.
From full-service packing, fragile item packing, and even just lending a hand if you want to do most of the packing yourself, they’ve got a seriously impressive menu. Plus, with a dedicated concierge, you always know who to call!
We’re giving Brightside Moving Group our number 1 spot, all thanks to their excellent customer service and range of moving services. With a dedicated concierge, 20 years in the industry, and a ton of helpful packing options, it’s easy to see why they’re our most recommended mover. Pick and choose what add-ons and extras you’ll need, and they’ll handle the rest.
BEST CUSTOMER REVIEWS
Moving APT scores our second spot thanks to their impressive collection of customer reviews and awards. We love when movers showcase their reviews and feedback, especially since 5-star reviews are so rare in the moving industry. Moving APT displays these with pride, which makes it super easy for us (and potential customers) to learn what to expect on the big day.
There are a lot of sketchy moving companies out there, but Moving APT is one of the good guys. They’re more customer-centric than a lot of other movers, meaning they’ll care more about your experience and your feedback than sticking to some quota. They’ve been at it for years, and if they keep it up, they’ll be in the industry for many more years to come.
BEST PREMIUM SERVICES
X Van Lines is an excellent choice if you’ve got a lot of fragile or high-value items and you don’t want to break the bank with one of those big-name movers. They have plenty of premium moving experience, and we’re always impressed by their concierge service. No more getting bounced around between departments when you’re just checking in!
X Van Lines has provided premium moving services for its customers ever since. If you’re looking for a hands-off move, X Van Lines offers a wide range of VIP options so their customers don’t have to lift a single box. They also have a whole network of vetted specialists for moves that need a refined touch.
MOST EXPERIENCED MOVER
Every move is different, and nobody knows it better than Native Van Lines. We love it when movers give their customers plenty of choice, instead of forcing them into some one-size-fits-all moving plan. When you book with Native Van Lines, you’re getting a huge menu of add-ons and extras so you get exactly what you’re looking for on the big day. Pick and choose your moving options, and they’ll deliver a custom move.
As experienced hands in the moving industry, Native Van Lines knew they needed something to set themselves apart from the other guys. That “something else” turned out to be a huge menu of options and add-ons, that you’d usually only get if you were working with two or three different movers at once. They made it more convenient to get the exact services their customers needed, and that’s why they’re still around to this day.
MOST EXPERIENCED MOVER
Adams Van Lines is one of our favorites. They provide a consistently high standard of service, and it’s all thanks to their intensive training and vetting. Before they send a moving crew to help you out, they make sure those movers know their packing, loading, and hauling. They also make sure those movers learn from more experienced team members. We love that kind of communication, and a commitment to quality is always a good thing.
Adams Van Lines may be a relative newcomer, but since they came on the scene, they’ve been delivering big on professionalism, punctuality, and all those other strengths that most moving companies take years to cultivate. Chalk it up to their strict vetting and training standards: Sure, some companies have been around longer, but it’s the quality of training that makes all the difference, not just the year on the nameplate.
MOST AFFORDABLE
If you’re moving on a budget, Pricing Van Lines gives you big-name service without the big-name price tag. Moving can be expensive, and every cent matters.
Fortunately, we’ve found that Pricing Van Lines’ customer service, moving teams, and extra services make them a standout in the field of low-cost movers. Read our full review for more info.
Pricing Van Lines has been in business for over 20 years, and during that time they’ve established themselves as the “best bang for your buck” movers.
They provide affordable moves without compromising quality, and for those moves that need a special touch, they have a whole list of vetted and verified specialists and carriers to help their customers out.

At Moving Feedback, we analyze national moving companies based on what real customers are saying. If you’re searching for the best in the business, every review counts – and so do these other key metrics:
Hiring a national moving company can cost anywhere from $1200 to $13400 – and beyond. This is a huge window, but it all depends on the amount of stuff you’re hauling and the distance you travel.
A long distance move can take anywhere from 1 to 21 days, but the exact amount of time can depend on factors like the distance of the move, the amount of belongings being transported, the availability of movers, and the chosen route.
While many people assume moving less stuff means waiting less time, movers don’t like to send half-empty trucks around. Instead, they’ll bundle moves together and take care of several in one trip, which means additional delays for pickups and dropoffs.
The sooner the better. We like to recommend hiring movers at least 2 months before the big day. Keep in mind, if you’re thinking of moving during peak moving season (pretty much the entire summer), it might be hard to find movers at the last minute.
If you’re flexible on your moving dates, it gives you a little bit of wiggle room when you’re trying to book a mover. As a nice bonus, some movers even offer discounts for flexible pickup and dropoff dates.
Sorry, Mr. Pink. In the moving industry, tips are both accepted, and expected. Unless a mover explicitly declines tips or gratuities, you should budget out 10% to 20% of the final cost of the move as a tip for your movers – to be divided between the entire moving team, of course. Don’t forget the driver.
Unless something’s really gone bad, it’s common practice to tip your movers. Feel free to be generous and tip towards the high end of that 10% – 20% window if your moving team has done a stellar job.
