We went undercover to call Trinity Relocation Group, and got a great snapshot of what you can expect on moving day. Over the course of our call, we chatted with a sales rep and pitched three different moves to get a better idea of Trinity’s services and capabilities. Overall, we had a great experience – and here’s why:
First off, there was minimal hold time. Other movers have automated systems to filter and screen callers, and while Trinity was no different, their automated system was easy to navigate and quick to clear. It took us less than 30 seconds to get in touch with an actual human.
Once we got through the menu, we got in touch with Jamie. He was super helpful, attentive, and informative, and even though he was a sales rep, we could tell he was invested in our move, rather than just trying to make a buck. He was friendly and really easy to talk to, and even though we told him we were just shopping around for quotes, Jamie filled us in on the details.
One thing we really appreciated was Jamie’s explanation of where Trinity Relocation Group stands in relation to other movers. He walked us through Trinity’s background (including how long they’ve been in business) and their practices for carefully selecting moving partners.
Once we got talking about our move, Jamie mentioned the additional services that Trinity Relocation Group offers. He explained how their packing services work, and he also mentioned that Trinity provides 30 days of free storage if you need to use a storage unit.
Since Trinity’s website includes car relocation as an extra service, we also asked Jamie about our options for hauling cars. He told us about Montway, Trinity’s preferred partner for auto transport, and we were really happy with the info he provided. Most movers don’t talk too much about their carriers or haulers, so this level of transparency was really awesome.
Trinity Relocation Group offers insurance coverage as part of their services, ensuring protection for your belongings during transit. It’s important to note that movers are federally obligated to provide a minimum level of coverage. (30 words)
We asked Jamie about Trinity’s insurance policy, and we were informed that they do offer the federally-mandated basic coverage you’ll find with many other movers in the industry ($0.60 per pound, with a $10,000 cap).
If you want to get more protection for your stuff, we were referred to Baker Insurance. Jamie also mentioned that we should check in with our homeowners or renters insurance provider to see if they could cover our move as well.
Discounts? Oh yeah. Jamie really hooked us up: Not only did we get a hefty discount for the size of our move (just about 50%!), he also gave us a discount for moving with AAA. Trinity also offers discounts for military, first-responders, and students.
While you’re not likely to book three moves at once, Jamie mentioned he could get us an additional discount for a bulk purchase. He also threw in a consumer advocate discount to sweeten the deal. (Had we been compromised? Did he know we were reviewers working for Moving Feedback? Hard to say, but the discount was much appreciated.)
Every move is different, and to reflect the changing nature of traffic, loading, and hauling, Jamie told us that Trinity provides a relocation window rather than an exact delivery date. For our California to Texas and Illinois to Texas moves, we got a window of 7 to 10 business days. On the other hand, our California to New York move would take 12 to 16 business days.
Move | Weight | Distance | Duration |
---|---|---|---|
Los Angeles to Austin | ~2,100 pounds (inventory list) | 1,383 miles | 10-20 Days |
Los Angeles to New York City | ~2,100 pounds (inventory list) | 2,799 miles | 10-20 Days |
Chicago to Austin | 3 Bedroom Home (Phone estimate) | 1,120 miles | 2-9 Days |
Don’t take our word for it. Here’s what customers have to say about Trinity Relocation Group:
“You won’t go wrong if you’re looking for a great Moving Company! I used Trinity Relocation Group services in April and they were very professional, on time pickup, the move went very quickly and smooth. I Highly recommend them .”
Nancy D Via Angi
“Between Tom organizing over the phone and John, Tony and Lloyd with the move, these guys were so professional, timely and efficient. I was truly impressed with how they wrapped all my furniture in blankets or plastic to ensure a safe move. I will definitely be using Trinity Relocation Group for my next move and recommending them to my friends in the area!”
David Bussotti Via Bestcompany
Trinity offers a wide range of discounts to potential customers, including AAA members, veterans, first-responders, and students. We were also given a discount for our move size, and a heft consumer advocate – although we aren’t sure if our sales rep could tell we were reviewers for Moving Feedback or not!
Every move is different, but Trinity gave us a moving window from 7 to 16 days. It’s important to remember that like most movers, Trinity bundles smaller moves together in the same truck for space- and fuel-efficiency. Don’t worry, we were told our belongings would be carefully separated and partitioned.
Trinity Relocation Group experiences higher demand during peak moving seasons, typically occurring in the summer months and around the end and beginning of the year. During these times, their availability might be more limited, so it’s advisable to plan ahead and book well in advance.
Like other movers, Trinity Relocation Group offers base coverage of $0.60 per pound, with a $10,000 maximum on your claim. However, we were also pointed towards Baker insurance in case we wanted to get some extra protection.
Trinity Relocation subcontracts their movers, but don’t let it scare you – they screen for professionalism and experience, and their network of partners only includes best moving companies with at least 5 years of experience. Plus, Trinity will be in charge of the whole moving process. They don’t outsource any of the management.
After our call, we can confidently recommend Trinity Relocation Group. Aside from their impressive discounts, they have a wide range of included services that make moving day easier. Plus, they’re committed to making sure your moving team is a team you can trust. Their customer service was really helpful, and we came away from the experience totally satisfied.
If you’re thinking of booking with Trinity, take some time to make a detailed inventory list, and give them a call! Best of luck with your move, and don’t forget the boxes!
You made it to the end! Thanks for sticking with us through yet another review. We were really happy to get in touch with Trinity, and we hope this article helped you prepare and plan accordingly for your move.
